Wow. Good question…
I am implementing three distinct steps. Taken independently, they would be self sustaining. Taken together and using them to support one another, I believe they will propel me forward beyond what I could do just implementing one or two alone.
My 1st goal is to ramp up the Podcast Training Program. Taking people from “concept through launch and into monetization” with their podcasts. This will use weekly webinars (the first Wednesday of each month + weekly Live training w/Q&A, etc.).
My 2nd goal is to increase my public speaking / coaching business. I have been doing this incrementally the past year or so, just to get my name out there and to build some credibility. I have been speaking in ministry events for years, but last year I started the Leadership / Team Building aspect for businesses. I spoke in three conferences last year (A Veteran’s Conference in DC; two small business training events). My goal for this year is 15 events with at least 10 of them as “paid gigs.” This will allow me to network with others; gain credibility and promote my courses (either directly in some events or by referring people to the website).
Goal #3 is to develop the Leadership / Team Building coaching program. This will incorporate step #2 plus the online coaching program (including weekly webinars; group coaching; etc.).
Each of these things could be implemented and be a stand alone business (hopefully). But I believe by combining them into one program with one purpose – the business brand itself of “Leadership / Team Building” – using the speaking as credibility for the coaching and the coaching as an extension of the speaking PLUS using the Podcast Training as a way to encourage “Leadership / Team Building” clients to reach their target markets – I believe they will all support one another and make the over business aspect better.
What needs to change? It has already begun. I’ve accomplished more in the last 60-90 days in this program with Sean than I have in the last four years combined.
THE BIGGEST CHANGE: Doing work on a DAILY basis. Even if I only have the time to do ONE small thing each day. By the end of the week, I’ve accomplished 7 different tasks and I am that much closer to my goal.
2nd thing that needs to change: Not worrying about numbers. Before, I was held back because of negative a negative mindset. “What if nobody attends my webinar?” “What if nobody buys my products?” “What if I’m asking too much for my product or coaching?” “Should I lower my price point and be like “Walmart?” Etc., etc.
Now, I am implementing and, instead of worrying about being perfect BEFORE I launch – I launch and will adjust on the fly. Although I understand I need numbers to make money – I know that “it will come” as I continue to do steps 1, 2, 3 consistently and do something on a daily basis.
SO, bottom line for me: Do SOMETHING each and every day. Not just randomly. But deliberately. Working to achieve the “next step” on the path to success.

That is a wonderful strategy Robert. You are taking massive action. It is good that you have recognised that the ‘small’ things that you accomplish everyday will get you closer to your big goal. Remember to celebrate those small wins.
Secondly, I’m no expert like Sean but from my own management background, I think it is best to have the three aspects as one business. They are all inter-related. You are on the right track there.
Remember to evaluate your progress on a monthly, quarterly (or whatever suits you best) basis. In this way, you will be able to determine what’s working, what’s not and why.
I love your approach and I wish you great success in 2019!
By the way, what is your process for getting speaking engagements at conferences etc. Do you have a pitch? I intend to begin my research to get more interviews and speaking engagements this year.
